Duke vs Vanderbilt – key differences in clinical training?
Fortunate to be comparing Duke and Vanderbilt as my top two choices. Both are excellent but I want to understand real differences.
What I know so far:
– Duke: Small cohort ~10-12, intensive didactic, Durham NC
– Vanderbilt: Strong cardiac and trauma reputation, Nashville TN, 28 monthsQuestions:
1. How do clinical sites compare – case complexity, volume, site variety?
2. Program culture – competitive or supportive among students?
3. Interview format at each?
4. For trauma and cardiac-heavy training, which is stronger?
5. How do grads from each do on boards? My goal is to work in a high-acuity academic center after graduation. Any direct experience with either program appreciated.
